Our entire life experience, arises from the energy of intention ~ Tara Brach
I am endless creator, over-achiever, optimist, lover. I know how to tap into a vein of aliveness & pour it out for myself & everyone else. I am good at devotion because I love the feeling of devotion. I might not be great at following directions or doing things on time but I do know how to touch something & mean it.
I say this because life has been sluggish & obstinate lately (a huge understatement I know). I have been grumpy & exhausted. And yet the aliveness is still present, right outside my fingertips. It never fails us. Spring is here & we are all still breathing, no matter what kind of ugliness is revealing itself to us (again & again).
How do we continue to touch the aliveness throughout our days? It weirdly takes practice to train your brain to regularly find that connection. And by practice I don’t mean a lot of effort but by making time, keeping your word with yourself.
It is not about questioning, it is not about looking, it is not even about taking action, it is about allowing oneself to feel connected to something larger. We don’t need to find it, this something larger. It is an essence, a fragrance that comes by living close to what is important to you. You can do many things without devotion but when you truly commit, something happens, your heart softens & you are in communion with life.
Come practice with me.
I have been reaching out more in my physical community lately but I still continue to work mostly online. I started the Devotional Study Hall to be together with others in subtle ways while working in my home, to combat the contraction of fear & loneliness that comes from the new normal of living & working online.
If you have ever been curious what my deal is exactly 😝 this is your chance to find out. I am so excited to host all of you, encourage a respite, a recalibration, an opportunity to create a workable game plan for activism, rest & love.
And also an opportunity to get some things activated or finished, if that is what you are needing.
If you are wondering what you can use the DSH for, here are some possibilities:
~ breathe/stretch
~ finally write like you have been planning to
~ write that gratitude list, love letter, letter to the manager, letter to your grandmother, substack, caption, call to action
~ read some of those tabs you have open
~ develop a community outreach plan
~ breathe
~ stare into the void & not be alone
~ repair some clothes you love
~ make a list of who you commit to protecting
~ utilize one of my suggestions: meditation, playlist, reading materials
~ ask for prayers
~ pray for others
~ gather your strength
A 6 week session of Devotional Study Hall beginning May 12
Monday & Wednesdays 1-3 pm EST with assorted pop-up times in the early mornings & possibly a few evenings.
AND special price for paid subscribers & sadhana crew 🌟
Based on the idea of co-working & body-doubling with a twist of the divine, a golden dome of love via Zoom. You may think this a contradiction in terms but you have never sat with me, the queen of the beloved, of yummy sacred ambiance & soundscapes.
We begin with a bit of clearing & some sharing & then dive into the deep end with a menu of music & diy meditations (should you desire) but really the time is yours to make, create, admin, stare into the void, roll around, move, seek divine counsel & more.
You don’t need to come every day or even for full sessions. Step behind the veil & try it out. You don’t need to face the barrage of destabilizing current events alone. Come sit with me/us. Looking forward to being together 🤍
