Angels, we are all doing the best we can these days & part of that, for me, is struggling with my paywall . . . what is equitable, how to share the love, how to support myself so that I can continue to be generous.
To continue to support my love sanctuary here, my research, memes & writing, new paid subscribers need to jump in as they are able. It helps more than you realize. It’s as simple as that.
If you have been enjoying these transmissions for a while, perhaps this is the moment you can begin paid support. Thank you so much in advance. I adore you.
I remember one time in therapy many years ago, my therapist said two things to me that linger in my lexicon of knowing who I am. One is “you are not judgmental, you are highly perceptive” (when I was perseverating on how I had an allergic reaction to various people) & also “one of the things I love about you is that you are relentless.” She was one of my favorite therapists/healers/bodyworkers ever, even though she broke all kinds of therapist rules & had bad boundaries. She was definitely a Brainiac Amor, an almost illegal love (we were never lovers, her boundaries weren’t that bad lol) that is always with you, as remarkable as any of my long term partners, someone that molded me at a time when I was raw, just a mass of feelings & the kind of understandings that feel like your whole world (before) has been a lie.
Like right now.
Luckily, in addition to being highly perceptive & relentless, I also love to play hard ball. It turns me on. I am like an Olympic level emotional warrior. Like Joan of Arc, I am not afraid, I was born to do this.
And, lucky for you, I am a relentless meme archivist, oversharer, link/tab hoarder & today is your lucky day. Just a taste. For you.
WHAT I AM OBSESSING ABOUT RIGHT NOW:
These chips. You may already be obsessed about the Trader Joe Elote Corn Chip Dippers & yes I know, LIKE CRACK, but these are more real, less sugar & more sustainably created & also, LIKE CRACK:
“The past comes, the future, the past, the future. It's always now, it's never now.”
“When the six of them talked about their spacewalks afterwards, they described déjà vu – they knew they’d been there before. Roman said that perhaps it was caused by untapped memories of being in the womb. That’s what floating in space feels like for me, he’d said. Being not yet born.”
“The planet is shaped by the amazing force of human want, which has changed everything, the forests, the poles, the reservoirs, the glaciers, the rivers, the seas, the mountains, the coastlines, the skies, a planet contoured and landscaped by want.”
Winner of the Booker Prize 2024, this slight (in size) book is blowing my mind. Beyond Sci-Fi or space travel, it makes sense of our lives by blowing out the boundaries completely.
“I run a school for young women”
If you know you know, if you don’t . . . why not????
The Gift Economy
Can you imagine a new economy of actions between individuals . .
Indigenizing over Decolonizing
This keeps coming to my attention. The patience & the tenacity of the indigenous. The fight. The idea that we can infiltrate & dismantle from within. A constant restructuring. Looking people in the eyes. A few ways this has been called to my attention this month:
adrienne marie & autumn brown interviewing Norma Wong on How to Survive the End of the World
Tess Lukey, Wampanoag Curator/Artist, on reciprocity & working in museums as an indigenous curator (I saw Tess speak at Provincetown Art Association & Museum during their Inaugural Symposium on American Art)
I want to give them full recognition but I also want to invite everyone of you to do organize projects like this in your community.
I think that’s enough relentlessness & perseveration for now 😌
Omg, I love you. Thank you for all your efforts, they are extremely helpful.
You are the gift. xoxo
