How to Prepare for Winter Solstice 101:

~ Winter Solstice is like the New Moon of the Year. It is a time of release. It is a time of initiation. It is a time when God is really really present. You can not think your way through this. You cannot make a specific request. When you think about what will make you feel lighter, be lighter, as you pass into your 'next life' cycle, you feel it in your bones. You know. You have always known. What needs to go.

~ When the light comes, don't waste time thinking about what you are letting go, why you are letting go or what it might feel like afterwards. Do not waste this sacred moment with your small human expectations. Get feral & automatic, become more streamlined because you need to breathe, because your body enjoys spaciousness.

~ There is a modern Zen saying: "You can't grab onto the next trapeze while still holding onto the one behind you." The moment in flight is grace.
The moment in between is the truth of yourself. Don't grab it. Look it in the eye, like the doe-like creature that it is. Fall in love with it. No hands on the trapeze. Just you, in the aliveness.

~ If you can do it, spend the time in silence. Exact moment of Solstice is
